Due to the political unrest and danger in Haiti, the team was unable to travel in 2005. The next medical mission had to wait until April 2006.
Because of a lack of municipal power during the period of unrest, the Hospital's backup generator had to be used as a constant source of continuous power. It required over 2 days to make the necessary repairs for the generator to perform in a satisfactory manner. Even with this difficulty, the medical team was able to examine 664 patients, perform 40 cataract surgeries, and distribute 378 pairs of glasses with corrective lenses.
