Butler Jean-Louis O.D.

Chief Optometrist

Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Dr. Butler Jean-Louis is an optometrist based in Bloomfield, New Jersey where he has practiced for the past 20 years. He is a member of the National Optometric Association, past member of the New Jersey Optometric Advisory Committee and the New Jersey Eye Care Council of Northern New Jersey Eye Institute. In 1982 he was named one of the Outstanding Young Men of America.

As the Chief Optometrist of FCLH, Dr. Jean-Louis has been taking yearly trips to Haiti with FCLH since 1983. He received the FCLH Humanitarian Award in 1985. He is also a member of the Montclair State University Health Careers Program Advisory Board and gives yearly career counseling lectures to the incoming freshman class at the University. He also visits local area high schools to promote Optometry during Career Day.

A graduate of Ithaca College in Ithaca, Dr. Jean-Louis also earned a BS and OD degree from was the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He is the father of two sons, and enjoys building computers and reading during his spare time.
